WHY A DROP CEILING?
Modern dropped ceilings were initially created to hide the building infrastructure, including piping, wiring, and/or duct-work, by creating a plenum space above the dropped ceiling, while allowing access for repairs and inspections.
Tile design has changed over the years. Acoustical panels come in 2x4’ and 2x2’ sizes. Soundproofing can be accomplished by adding density to the walls or ceilings. Suspended acoustical systems are installed in most commercial applications and in some residential as well.
